Data Access
Data Resources
One benefit of being a student fellow is the ability to utilize in-house expertise and resources when it comes to data.
As a student fellow, the CID program manager will help you through the sometimes complicated process of gaining access to datasets. The program manager will take lead on getting the request through U-M’s internal system for an authorized signature and will help you find a solution to any requirements needed to access the data.
Students have used CID to gain access to datasets such as the:
- Panel Study of Income Dynamics (PSID) Restricted Files
- National Center for Education Statistics’ National Study of Postsecondary Faculty (NSOPF) Restricted Files
- National Postsecondary Student Aid Study (NPSAS) Restricted Files
- National Center for Health Statistics – Vital Statistics Restricted Data Files
- National Longitudinal Surveys (NLS) Restricted Files
- Zillow’s Transaction and Assessment Database (ZTRAX)
This support from CID allows me to design and polish my poster presentation at PAA2023.
