New Postdoctoral Research Fellow Joins CID

Dec 17, 2021

The Stone Center for Inequality Dynamics (CID) is pleased to welcome Jake Hays to the team. Jake is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Survey Research Center and a new affiliate of CID. He recently earned his Ph.D. in Sociology, with a Graduate Interdisciplinary Specialization in Demography, from The Ohio State University. His research primarily focuses on the link between family demography and social inequality. His dissertation used the Panel Study of Income Dynamics to examine the relationship between children’s family structure and household wealth. He found that wealth and family structure are highly intertwined, such that wealth is predictive of family structure at birth, and in turn, family structure is associated with household wealth accumulation across the early life course. Jake is excited to join CID and learn from leading researchers on wealth inequality and the PSID.

Learn more about him on his website.
